WME’s structural engineers are experts in the design and construction of all types of structures, from individual small buildings to multi-unit developments, and low-rise long-span buildings to super high-rise towers.
We work closely with architects, project developers, building owners and contractors to achieve the collective vision for a project, delivering effective structural solutions. Whatever the sector, scale, location or structural material, we provide a practical coordinated service, designed to maximise value and minimise construction time.
WME’s roots are in the UAE, where construction is fast-paced and demanding, and in the UK. Many projects push architectural, technical and physical boundaries. Our structural engineering teams include experts from many countries, drawn to the UAE for its dynamic construction environment and to the UK for the challenges of working in a complex built environment. We offer a depth of experience in both regions and beyond, the ability to find solutions to complex challenges and the flexibility to work with new technologies and design approaches.
Particular areas of expertise include the design of long-span and high-rise structures, design for seismic zones, and the integration of structures and building services, along with sustainability measures, in all building types.
A key aspect of our approach is working with architects and designers at the concept stage of a project, when structural advice and option development can help define architectural intent and realise spatial qualities. It can also increase net lettable areas and layout flexibility — reducing capital costs and maximising construction efficiency — as well as help build-in adaptability for future uses.
In addition to the integrated built environment services we provide at WME, we work closely with external experts in geotechnical, facade and fire engineering. We use the latest building information modelling (BIM) software, coordinating and streamlining design and documentation processes across even the most complex of projects.
