Building Information Modeling (BIM)
BIM is constantly evolving and its use is becoming essential to project success as well as a competitive advantage.
BIM’s three-dimensional computer models improve collaboration and decision-making, enable easy trialling of design variations and multi-user working, eliminate repetitive amendments, enable clash detection between disciplines, allow real-time scheduling, and provide accurate cost and quantity estimates.
At WME, we use the latest BIM technology for structural and building services engineering design, and we are proactive in the development of BIM and its implementation for our clients’ projects.
We run our own BIM 360 Team hub, which is a cloud application that we use for data sharing, review processes and the comparison of BIM model versions. This enables easy visualisation of modifications throughout the delivery process by all stakeholders in a project.
WME also uses a digital design review process. Using custom markup and approvals software tools, we streamline the design review process and speed up the project overall. Team members can accurately review 2D and 3D designs digitally, offer feedback quickly and easily, and track and round-trip changes while cutting days off a review cycle.
