Meet Mohammed Rayees

Senior mechanical site engineer Mohammed Rayees came to WME through personal recommendation. His background is in MEP coordination for large contracting firms in the UAE. In the short time he has been with us — nearly a year — he has risen fast.
“At WME, you do your work, you get recognised. This is my first time working for a consultant, and I’m very happy. I plan to stay.”

The recognition he has gained for the contribution he makes to the construction process is important to him. Site engineers stay with a project from start to finish, dealing with all the complexities along the way. With WME, when issues arise, he uses his experience to propose solutions to the design engineers — and they listen. He feels he can work creatively and is part of the team.

“The more I can learn, the more smoothly the job runs. It’s not just supervision. I already use my design knowledge of plumbing, and now I am training in HVAC design. WME recognises people’s skills and that engenders a sense of confidence.”

He is also taking a peer review role, mentoring WME’s site inspectors. He says WME is like a family, and that he appreciates the respectful working environment the practice has fostered.

Rayees was initially trained in India, gaining an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and a post graduate diploma in project management. He left India to follow his dreams and seems to have found a way to realise them in Dubai, where he has lived for more than 10 years. His wife and baby daughter are with him, as well as his mother. He has found his home.
