WME have been appointed as the Engineering Design Consultant for the Operations Pavilions at Expo 2020 under the specialist Design & Build Contractor Spacemaker.
The project consists of seven distinct buildings distributed across multiple plots within the Expo site, with each two storey structure developed around a modular solution to facilitate off-site prefabrication.
The Operations Pavilions will enhance the visitor experience for Expo 2020 providing welfare facilities to support the overall functioning of the event, acting as Information Centres with customer service reception, first aid facilities, security offices, prayer rooms and public toilets.
Each Pavilion has access from the concourse route as the main public entrance. The Pavilion will be designed to comply with the Self-Build Pavilions Delivery Guide as operational between October 2020 to April 2021 and complement the sustainable objectives of EXPO 2020 with dismantlement upon conclusion of the event.
