We worked on the structural, building services and infrastructure design of the new Lapita Hotel in the Jebel Ali district of Dubai — part of the Dubai Parks complex.
Lapita Hotel is a Polynesian-themed 820-bed development managed by Samsung C&T Corporation and operated by Marriott International.

The main low-rise hotel building accommodates 500 guests and is surrounded by eight cluster buildings in a tropical South-Seas style landscape, accommodating a further 320 people. WME’s engineers designed a structural solution that avoided any need for piling, saving on construction cost and time.

We also develoed an early works utility package that shortened the schedule further.

Building information modelling (BIM) was used to ensure close co-ordination between structures, services and the complex irrigation and drainage requirements.
