Meet Radhika Kapoor

Graduate mechanical engineer Radhika Kapoor loves cars. She loves everything about them, so much so that she has interned in automotive companies and written research papers. If WME took up automotive engineering, there’d be no stopping her.

Her passion for technology dates back to 9th grade, when she decided to become a mechanical engineer. Born in Bombay, she followed her parents to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, attending school here (except for two years in India) and then university. A college friend at WME suggested she send her CV to us.

“I came to WME for one month’s training and ended up being here for 9 months so far.”

Working at WME helps her see the automotive industry from a different perspective. She says it helps her understand the technology better and shows her other aspects, such as energy-saving design. But that’s not to say she’s not enjoying the mechanical engineering work too.

“Although I’m a graduate engineer, WME doesn’t limit me to just one area, such as doing calculations. They let us try all aspects of MEP — setting tasks, helping us with management, helping us think in different ways. I have a mentor but I work with lots other people too.”

She also like the variety of work, friendly atmosphere and mixture of cultures. Her future is here in Dubai. If only the UAE had a car industry!
